Terms of Service

These RENT A HERO Z Terms of Service (hereinafter referred to as the "Terms") define the conditions for using the game service (hereinafter referred to as the "Service") provided by LINE NEXT Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") and establish an agreement between the Company and users of the Service (hereinafter referred to as the "Users").
Section 1
Definitions
In these Terms, the following definitions shall apply:
- 1.1. An "Account" refers to a unique identifier, such as a string of characters or other marks, issued by the Company to identify a User when using the Service.
- 1.2. "In-Game Currency" refers to electronic tokens or relating to such tokens, issued by the Company as a means of electronic payment for purchasing or using various goods or services within the Service. The name of the currency may be subject to change at the Company's discretion. Except where refunds are required by applicable laws, In-Game Currency within the Service shall not be treated as prepaid payment instruments under the laws of other countries and shall not be refundable.
- 1.3. "Content" refers to text, audio, music, images, videos, software, programs, codes, and other forms of information.
- 1.4. "Service Content" refers to content accessible through the Service.
- 1.5. "Paid Services" refer to services or content provided for a fee within the Service, including services or content exchanged for paid In-Game Currency.
- 1.6. Terms not defined herein shall be interpreted in accordance with applicable laws, customary practices, or the service descriptions specified within the application.
Section 2
Acceptance of Terms
- 2.1. Users must use the Service in accordance with these Terms. Users who do not agree to these Terms are not permitted to use the Service.
- 2.2. Users may not use the Service under any of the following circumstances. The Company shall not be held liable for any damages resulting from a violation of this provision:
- 2.2.1. If the User is under the age of 12 when using the Service
- 2.2.2. If the User uses a false identity or the identity of another person
- 2.2.3. If the User provides false or incorrect information, or fails to provide the information requested by the Company
- 2.2.4. If the User violates provisions specified in these Terms
Section 3
Amendments to the Terms
- 3.1. The Company may amend these Terms to the extent such amendment does not violate applicable laws.
- 3.2. When the Company amends these Terms, the Company will announce the revised Terms along with their effective date and the reasons for the update. This announcement will appear prominently on the app's initial screen at least seven (7) days before the amendments take effect. The comparison between the original and revised Terms will be presented clearly to facilitate Users' understanding. For changes that significantly impact Users' rights, obligations, or interests, or are otherwise disadvantageous to Users, the Company will provide additional individual notice via electronic methods, such as the registered email address or a pop-up screen at login, at least thirty (30) days in advance.
- 3.3. If a User does not explicitly express an objection to the revised Terms within the notice period, despite being informed that failure to express intent will be considered as consent, the User shall be deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.
- 3.4. If a User does not agree to the amended Terms, the Company cannot apply the amended provisions to that User. In such cases, the User may terminate their service agreement. However, if it is impossible to maintain the agreement under the original Terms due to special circumstances, the Company may terminate the service agreement.
- 3.5. These Terms shall apply from the date the User agrees to them until the User's termination of their account. However, certain provisions of these Terms may remain effective even after account termination.
Section 4
Accounts
- 4.1. To use the Service, Users may need to register their information and create an Account. In such cases, Users must provide truthful, accurate, and complete information and update it such that it remains current.
- 4.2. If Users register authentication information when using the Service, they must safeguard such information including their login credentials to prevent unauthorized use. Any action taken using the User's registered credentials (including matches of account credentials or unique identifiers sent by a mobile carrier) will be considered as performed by the User.
- 4.3. If a User is using the Service without creating an Account, or through a guest account that has not been linked to an Account, the Company shall not be liable for any data reset or loss due to a change, loss, or reset of the User's communication device, deletion of the application, or any similar event, and data transfer, including In-Game Currency, to a new or changed communication device shall not be possible.
- 4.4. In cases specified in the preceding clause, data related to In-Game Currency, paid content purchased by the User and all other data related to the Service may be lost or deleted without prior notice to the User for the following reasons:
- 4.4.1. Uninstallation of the Service by the User
- 4.4.2. Device changes made by the User
- 4.4.3. Causes beyond the control of the Company or the User
- 4.5. The Company reserves the right to delete accounts that have been inactive for over one year without prior notice to the User.
- 4.6. Upon account deletion, all Service usage rights will be lost, regardless of the reason. Deleted accounts cannot be recovered, even if they were deleted by mistake.
- 4.7. The account and all associated rights within the Service are personal and non-transferable. Users may not transfer, lend, assign, or bequeath their rights to third parties.
- 4.8. Users shall not maintain multiple Accounts, register a new Account following the deactivation of an existing one, access the Service through unauthorized third-party applications, request login credentials from other users, or participate in the trading, transferring, or renting of Accounts, including their own.
Section 5
Protection of Personal Information
- 5.1. When collecting personal information, the Company strives to protect such information in compliance with applicable laws. The protection and use of personal information are governed by applicable laws and the Company's Privacy Policy.
- 5.2. The Company's Privacy Policy does not cover third-party services or advertisements that are only accessible via links in the Service.
- 5.3. The Company bears no responsibility for the exposure of Users' personal information, including account information, resulting from the User's own fault.
- 5.4. The Company does not provide Users' personal information to third parties without their consent, unless required by applicable laws or upon the request of relevant governmental authorities.
Section 6
Provision and Modification of the Service
- 6.1. Users may use the Service immediately after agreeing to the Terms according to Article 2 of these Terms.
- 6.2. The Company retains full discretion and authority over the operation, modification, suspension, or termination of the Service.
- 6.3. The Company may restrict, suspend, or terminate all or part of the Service under the following circumstances:
- 6.3.1. System maintenance or instability.
- 6.3.2. Service interruptions due to overload or outages.
- 6.3.3. When events beyond the Company's control occur, such as war, civil unrest, natural disasters, or other national emergencies.
- 6.3.4. When a third party raises objections, requests, or legal actions claiming infringement of their rights, or when judicial, investigative, or regulatory authorities issue judgments, decisions, orders, or requests to restrict, suspend, or terminate all or part of the Service.
- 6.4. The Company is not liable for any issues arising from changes, suspension, or termination of the Service, except when such actions result from the Company's intentional or negligent conduct.
Section 7
User Responsibilities
- 7.1. Users shall comply with applicable laws, these Terms, usage guidelines, notices related to the Service, and any instructions provided by the Company. Users must not engage in any acts that interfere with the Company's operations.
- 7.2. Users shall not use the Service for purposes other than its intended use or engage in any of the following activities:
- 7.2.1. Accessing or using the Service in ways not explicitly permitted by these Terms, policies, or other guidelines
- 7.2.2. Violating laws or regulations applicable to the use or access of the Service
- 7.2.3. Probing, scanning, inspecting or testing the vulnerability of the Company's Service, systems or networks
- 7.2.4. Attempting to bypass content filtering technologies or accessing unauthorized areas or features of the Service
- 7.2.5. Uploading viruses or malicious codes or compromising, circumventing, or breaching the Service's security measures
- 7.2.6. Interfering with, disrupting, or negatively affecting other users' enjoyment of the Service or using the Service in ways that may harm, impair, disable, or overburden its functionality
- 7.2.7. Using or developing third-party applications that interact with the Service or its content without the Company's written consent
- 7.2.8. Employing automated tools such as robots, spiders, crawlers, or scrapers to access the Service or extract information from other Users
- 7.2.9. Reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, decoding, or attempting to extract source code or algorithms from the platform software
- 7.2.10. Unauthorized modifications to client programs, hacking the Company's servers, altering posted information, or using the Service through abnormal methods
- 7.2.11. Creating multiple Accounts, reactivating disabled Accounts, accessing the Service through unauthorized third-party applications, requesting other users' login credentials, or buying, selling, or leasing Accounts
- 7.2.12. Using the Service in ways that are not intended or explicitly permitted, such as unauthorized copying, modifying, storing, downloading, uploading, publishing, distributing, selling, renting, broadcasting, performing, exhibiting, providing, creating derivative works, or otherwise utilizing the Service's content (excluding temporary files) unless explicitly permitted for display purposes as specified in these Terms or automatically stored in the User's web browser
- 7.2.13. Infringing on the intellectual property rights (such as copyrights, trademarks, and design rights), image rights, publicity rights, reputation, privacy, or other legal rights of the Company or third parties. This includes individuals or entities who have licensed their intellectual property for use in the Service, unrelated public figures (regardless of their fame or recognition), and any other third parties, as well as rights protected under laws related to unfair competition, trade secrets, or other applicable regulations
- 7.2.14. Using trademarks, branding, logos, icons, user interface elements, designs, photographs, videos, or other materials provided through the Service beyond what is explicitly permitted by these Terms, policies, or other guidelines.
- 7.2.15. Engaging in actions that violate public order, morals, or relevant laws.
- 7.3. Users must regularly review and comply with notices and amendments to these Terms provided via the Company's website or app and must not engage in activities that disrupt the Company's operations.
- 7.4. Users are responsible for managing the devices they use to access the Service and must not allow third parties to use them. The Company is not liable for any losses or damages, including loss of usage records, resulting from Users' negligence, device mismanagement, or loss.
Section 8
Provision of Information
- 8.1. The Company may deliver relevant information necessary for the User's experience with the Service through app push notifications, text messages (LMS/SMS), email, or in-app announcements. Advertising content may also be shared through these channels but will only be sent to Users who have agreed to receive such messages. Users may revoke their consent at any time, and the Company will promptly discontinue the delivery of advertising content following such a request.
- 8.2. The Company may display advertisements within the Service, and by using the Service, Users agree to the display of such advertisements.
- 8.3. Users may be directed to third-party advertisements or services via banners or links displayed within the Service. These third-party services are not part of the Company's Service, and the Company does not guarantee their reliability, stability, or quality. The Company assumes no responsibility for any loss or damage incurred as a result of accessing, participating in, or conducting transactions related to such advertisements or services.
Section 9
Third-Party Services
The Service may feature content or services provided by third parties independent of the Company. The responsibility for these services or content lies with the third-party provider. Additionally, the use of such content or services may be subject to terms and conditions specified by the respective providers.
Section 10
Provision of Content and Rights
- 10.1. All copyrights and other intellectual property rights (including rights to derivative works) related to the Service and all content provided within it are owned by the Company to the extent permitted by applicable laws. Users are granted only a non-commercial, non-transferable, and non-assignable license to use the Service and its content under the conditions specified by the Company. Users may not transfer, sell, or use this right or license as collateral for any purpose.
- 10.2. When using content where separate fees, usage periods, or other specified conditions are specified, Users must adhere to those conditions. Even if the Service displays options such as "purchase" or "sale" on the interface, intellectual property rights and other rights related to the content remain with the Company. Only a license to use the content under specified terms is granted to the User.
- 10.3. Users may not use content beyond its intended purpose as defined by the Service, including but not limited to reproduction, transmission, distribution, or modification.
- 10.4. If a User misuses or illegally appropriates content posted on the Service, causing damage to the Company, the User must provide compensation to the Company through legal procedures.
- 10.5. The Company is not liable for any loss or issues arising from unauthorized use of content, and such actions are solely the responsibility of the User.
Section 11
In-Game Currency
- 11.1. Users can obtain In-Game Currency through purchases, promotional campaigns, or other means specified by the Company. Details such as purchase units, payment methods, usage periods, and other acquisition conditions will be determined by the Company and displayed either within the Service or on the Company's website.
- 11.2. In-Game Currency cannot be exchanged for cash, goods, or other monetary benefits, except as permitted for services or content specifically designated by the Company. The Company will specify the amount of In-Game Currency required for such exchanges and any applicable conditions, which will be displayed within the Service or on its website.
- 11.3. In-Game Currency purchases are final and non-refundable under any circumstances, except where required by applicable laws. Where refunds are mandated by law, the Company will determine the refund method and provide details on its website or similar platforms.
- 11.4. In-Game Currency is tied to the account of the User who acquired it and cannot be transferred or assigned to another Account. Furthermore, In-Game Currency provided for different operating systems or devices may differ in type, and they cannot be carried over or merged even if they share the same name.
- 11.5. When Users hold both paid and complimentary In-Game Currency of the same type, the paid In-Game Currency will be consumed first.
Section 12
Restrictions on Use
- 12.1. The Company may immediately suspend the provision of the Service in the following cases. The Company will not provide compensation in such cases:
- 12.1.1. If the User breaches these Terms or any applicable laws to the provision or use of the Service, including intellectual property laws and consumer protection laws applicable in the regions where the Service is provided or used.
- 12.1.2. If the User infringes upon third-party rights, such as copyrights, publicity rights, reputation, or privacy rights.
- 12.1.3. If the User engages in activities that violate public order, moral standards, or accepted societal norms.
- 12.1.4. If the User overloads the Company's systems or servers, employs automated tools for unauthorized access, attempts to hack, or otherwise improperly accesses the Company's systems or servers.
- 12.1.5. If the User disregards operational policies or notices explicitly announced by the Company.
- 12.2. When the Company restricts a User's access to the Service pursuant to this Article, it will notify the User through the methods specified in Article 3.2 of these Terms. However, if the User violates laws or causes significant damage to the Company through willful misconduct or gross negligence, or if other urgent action is required, the Company may take urgent actions to restrict access without prior notice.
- 12.3. Users may file an objection to the restriction imposed under this Article through procedures established by the Company. If the objection is deemed valid, the Company will promptly restore the User's access to the Service.
Section 13
Limitation of Liability
- 13.1. The Company shall not be held liable for failure to provide the Service due to circumstances beyond its control, such as natural disasters, DDoS attacks, IDC malfunctions, or network failures caused by telecommunications providers.
- 13.2. The Company is exempt from liability if Service interruptions or disruptions occur due to maintenance, replacement, inspections, or construction of Service facilities.
- 13.3. Any issues stemming from the User's device or network environment, or disruptions caused by the User's actions or negligence, are outside of the Company's responsibility.
- 13.4. The Company does not guarantee the reliability or accuracy of responses provided through the Service to the extent permitted by applicable laws. The Company makes no warranties regarding the truth or accuracy of such responses.
- 13.5. The Company shall not be liable for the use of the free portions of the Service unless otherwise stipulated by applicable laws. However, this exemption does not apply in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence by the Company.
- 13.6. The Company is not obligated to mediate disputes arising between Users or between a User and a third party related to the Service, except in cases where the Company's intentional or grossly negligent actions are evident. The Company is not liable for damages resulting from such disputes.
- 13.7. The Company shall not be held liable for any damages resulting from a User disclosing or providing their personal information to others.
Section 14
Relationship Between These Terms and Applicable Laws
If any provision of these Terms is found to conflict with applicable laws governing the agreement between the Company and the User concerning the Service, the provision in question shall not apply to the extent of such conflict. However, this shall not affect the validity, enforceability, or interpretation of the remaining provisions of these Terms, which shall remain fully effective.
Section 15
Language
These Terms are provided in English. All interpretations, conditions, and definitions of these Terms shall be based on the English text.
Section 16
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
- 16.1. These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, United States of America, and shall be interpreted in accordance therewith.
- 16.2. Any disputes between the Company and the User shall first be resolved through sincere and amicable negotiation. If such resolution proves impossible, the dispute shall be submitted to a court of competent jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
